A Recap: Academic Session 2025-26

As we enter the last lap of the academic session 2025-26 and before we recap all the action that our students undertook, here’s a little secret.

Of all the time plans and lesson plans and schedulers and deadlines which we make, here’s what happens when the rubber meets the road.

Presented in the form of a little poem, from a teacher’s perspective,

when she enters the classroom.

Teacher Reads the Eyes Best

Eyes eager and impatient

Eyes anxious and apprehensive

Eyes maintaining contact

Or eyes downcast.

Pull out a rabbit

Crack a joke

Stern the voice

Blow some smoke.

Our plan for the day

is dictated by these 25 eyes!

Apr to Jun 2025

1. The academic session began on 02 Apr 2025, which gave us a month and half of academics before the summer vacations from 19 May to 01 Jul 25.

Jul to Sep 2025

2. The first Unit Test was held from 23 Jul till 31 Jul and it showed us that most of our students had taken the summer holiday homework seriously.

3. Rakhi Making Activity and celebrations were held on 08 Aug. We had cultural program, befitting the occasion, on 15 Aug, the highlight of the event being children of each class giving their views ranging from Independence Day to “How to make our country developed by 2047?”

4. Our school Taekwondo team made us proud by for competing in Delhi on 24 Aug and won 7 Gold and 7 Silver medals.

5. On 04 Sep, we held Teacher’s Day celebrations and on 06 Sep, we held Quiz competition. Our students surprised us with the level of knowledge they possess!

6. Term 1 exams were from 15 Sep till end Sep. While the result was heartening, it gave us honest feedback about the specific area each child had to work and we gave ourselves six months to achieve it.

Oct to Dec 2025

7. The final of the debate competition was held on 13 Oct. Our children debated on varied topics and subjects and showed us that they are on the right path!

8. Pre-Diwali activities were held on 17 Oct and drawing competition on 18 Oct. Creativity of our students was in full flow and displayed in all its glory!

9. Bharat-ke-Sitare City auditions were held in our school premises on 19 and 31 Oct and our children showed that they are equally adept in dance-music too!

10. Story Writing and Telling competition was held on 29 and 30 Oct, and children regaled us with their imagination and writing/speaking prowess!

11. Our Taekwondo players had their belt test on 02 Nov and we are glad to report that every player won their coveted belt!

12. We held our annual Scouts and Guides Camp on 12 and 13 Nov. The theme being One-Nation was well justified with the culminating event!

13. Not to be left behind, our junior sections went on a picnic on 11 Novand held Nursery rhymes competition on 15 Nov.

14. Our senior sections went on a picnic on 23 Nov and showed us a level of understanding and maturity, which pleasantly surprised even our senior teachers.

15. The period till mid Dec was then earmarked for preparing for UT 2 examswhich were held from 15 to 22 Dec, and we saw a marked improvement despite giving difficult question papers.

16. Science Olympiad exams are a third-party audit of our education system and we conducted Eng, Sci and Maths Olympiads on 11 Nov, 27 Nov and 12 Decrespectively, which showed our children how to appear for OMR based questions and gave us feedback too.

17. In addition, we also conducted one-hour seminars on “Menstrual Hygiene” and “Online Cyber Fraud and Advertisements” conducted by leading third-party experts on 13 Nov and 23 Dec respectively.

18. The hectic quarter closed with fancy dress competition on 24 Dec and Salad decoration competition on 26 Dec. Winter break was from 31 Dec 25 to 10 Jan 26.

Jan 26 to Mar 26

19. The month of Jan was a start-stop due to inclement weather and poor AQI. However, we could get a window on 25 Jan to participate in Taekwondo competition in Delhi wherein our players won 11 gold and 7 silver medals.

20. The Term 2 exams are scheduled from 09 Mar; with next year academic session to begin from 02 Apr 2026.

Feedback

21. The academic year saw our students markedly improve their language and maths skill, despite testing them on a higher level of questions. It also showed us that we need to tweak our syllabus a little, keeping in tune with the latest NCERT syllabus and likely board exams pattern. While keeping our focus steady on STEM subjects, we are also planning on giving a little more emphasis on subjects like Logical Reasoning and GK.

22. What doesn’t change is our DNA – affordability, limited class strength, English reading-writing-speaking and Maths. We will continue to follow the path laid out by our founding father, Late Squadron Leader Krishna Kumar Singh (Retired).
